Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) position in the Academic & Student Affairs division, Health and Public Safety Technologies.

This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.

Under the general supervision of the Radiologic Program Chair, the Adjunct Instructor (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) position requires a passion, demonstrated by experience, for effective teaching and advisement of diverse students.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following :

  • Delivering education services to students through various resources and platforms.
  • Preparelessonplansandsyllabiforprogramcourses.
  • Prepareandmaintainallrequireddocumentationandadministrative reports for program and students in the courses.
  • Instruct MRI technology courses in a classroom / lab / field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
  • Provide instruction in the theory and practical applications in MRI technology in the classroom and lab environment.
  • Measure program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submit results to program chair.
  • Remain compliantwithallAmericanRegistryofRadiologicTechnologistrequirementsandcurriculumrequirements for MRI.
  • Remain compliant with all requirements for instruction, practice, and licensure in the field of study.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements and additional instructor trainings, including completion of professional development trainings.
  • Attend all mandatory staff, division, and college meetings.
  • Participateindivision,program,andcollegeeventsasneeded.
  • Positionmayrequireday / evening / weekend / distance (online) learning classes and activities.
  • Position may require coverage of other radiology courses, as needed.
  • Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Maintain proper documentation for ongoing JRCERT accreditation and performance.
  • May be asked to serve on committees and projects.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Must possess and demonstrate the following :

  • Bachelor degree or higher and three( 3 ) or more years of teachingexperience, and be qualifiedtoteachthesubject.
  • Experiencedincourse development,instruction,evaluation,andacademic advising.
  • One ( 1 ) or more year(s) of clinicalexperienceintheprofessionalMRIdiscipline.
  • KnowledgeableinJRCERTstandardsand process.
  • CurrentAmericanRegistryofRadiologicTechnologists(ARRT).
  • Certificationandregistration,orequivalentin RadiographyandMRI
  • Must also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communicationskills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following :

  • Mastersdegree or higher AND be qualifiedtoteachthesubject.
  • Proficientincourse development,instruction,evaluation,andacademic advising.
  • Five ( 5 ) or more years of teachingexperience inlab,clinical,anddidacticsetting.
  • Two ( 2 ) years of clinicalexperienceintheprofessionalMRIdiscipline.
  • Ability to think multi-task, quickly and independently.
