Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift : 6 : 30 PM - 7 : 00 AM

Experience :

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience within the past 4 years.
• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements :

50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Previous Employment Requirements : Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.

Required Credentials : Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

Resume : Each employment history entry must include all the following : detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

Annual Skills Checklist is required for submission and can't expire during the expected contract dates.

No license or background hits

Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles

RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated

Types of Patients on Unit : Common diagnosis / Types of patients : MedSurg / Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive

Unit / Facility Details : # of Beds : 55

Special Requests : Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling

RTO needed upfront . Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Shift & Scheduling : Every other weekend

Holiday Requirements : 2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years.

Floating Requirements : Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed

Facility holidays : 01 / 01 / 2025, 11 / 27 / 2025, 12 / 25 / 2025. Number of holidays allowed off : 1. Start assignment restriction : 14 days

1 reference from last 12 months (Charge / Lead reference type) - required for submission

1 reference from last 3 years (Manager / Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
