Job Description Summary :
Located near beautiful Folly Beach, MUSC James Island Family Medicine is serving patients of all ages of James Island and surrounding areas.
As part of the Medical University of South Carolina academic medical center, we are a busy residency clinic where patients are cared for by resident physicians as well as MUSC faculty physicians.
We take pride in quality patient-centered care and are recognized for this by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Job Description :
CMA Job Summary / Purpose : Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
LPN Job Summary / Purpose : Responsible for quality patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical practice.
Duties include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections, and assisting with minor procedures.
CMA Minimum Training and Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
Basic computer skills required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Annual competencies are required to be maintained.
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
LPN Minimum Training and Education : Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
One year of LPN experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Physical Requirements : Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
