Position Summary Directs daily workflow of the MRI department and assists the Imaging Services Supervisor, Imaging Services Manager and / or Imaging Services Director.
Responsibilities Essential Functions
- Adheres to Orlando Health mission statement and strategic imperatives.
- Directs and assistswith daily workflow ofthe Imaging team to include patientflow,supply ordering,staff assignments, and resolution of customer service issues.
- Plans and prioritizes exam scheduling, and processing thatsupport the needs ofthe patients and physicians.
- Ensures images meet the established Quality Control standards.
- Provides input to supervisor for evaluations / coaching plans.
- Actively participates in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and / or other emergencies.
- Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures as outlined in the technologist job description.
- Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to the modality with responsibility for MRI safety.
- Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
- Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Applies principles of MRIsafety to patients,self, and others.
- Ensuresthe safety of all customers.
- Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements. Other Related Functions
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and ensures work areas are organized.
- Maintains a cooperative work environment in the department and reports noncompliance to supervisor / manager.
- Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Reports equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
- Provides patient transport.
- Works at any facility as required by operational needs or organizational demands. Qualifications Education / Training Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Licensure / Certification
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Maintains current BLS / Healthcare provider certification.
- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida is preferred. Experience (5) years of experience in MRI preferred.Essential Functions
