About the role :

The US Medical and Science Innovation Senior Scientist is accountable for providing medical and scientific expertise to early stage US innovation projects and emerging science areas including those led by the US Innovation Incubator, External Innovation opportunities, and inline brand innovations as needed in order to deliver new product and claims innovations.

Key responsibilities :

Provide medical / scientific input into innovation projects working collaboratively with the US Director Medical Innovation, US Medical Affairs, and Category / Regional R&D cross functional partners to de-risk innovation projects early

Participate in Incubator projects and help define and ideate on complimentary areas of interest for existing US brands (OTC / Wellness)

Actively contribute to claims ideation strategies for innovation projects and complete science overview documents as needed

Complete new ingredient assessments for product innovations

Assess scientific intelligence that can be applied to product innovations and external opportunities

Provide input into process improvement, new tools, and ways of working that are fit for process and enable agile innovation

Adhere to all Medical Governance policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliant activities that protect Haleon’s reputation

Required Skills :

Advanced degree in science (including MD, DDS, DMD, PharmD, PhD, MS or RD)

A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical / consumer healthcare industry preferentially in the OTC / FMCG segment required.

Ideally will have experience in and / or working with Medical or Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research / Development, and / or Innovation.

The role requires scientific / clinical acumen and an understanding of product development to be most impactful as well as a deep knowledge about nutrition / dietary supplements

Demonstrates ability to take initiative, think and work independently, problem-solve, work effectively in teams, and multitask, as well as possess excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Continuous curiosity, growth mindset, and ability to think expansively and strategically

Preferred skills :

Advanced degree with clinical care or research experience

Clinical certification (e.g., medical licensure, board certification, etc.)

Ability to manage in a changing environment and comfort working in a matrix organization

Salary : $125,224.00 - $187,836.00
