About the Role

As Senior Operations Manager, you will manage and coordinate merchandise processing throughout the Distribution Network.

You will drive process improvement through your demonstrated leadership ability to engage and motivate others to meet business objectives.

What You’ll Do

Identify and implement strategic initiatives across the Distribution / E-Fulfillment network

Manage the workflow of several departments in conjunction with Operations Managers and individual department supervisors to meet planned units per hour, cost per unit, level of service and accuracy standards

Ensure department goals are aligned with organizational strategy

Develop and administer short and long-term operating budgets in conjunction with other distribution and corporate division staff

Effectively manage staffing to meet UPH and CPU goals

Provide strategy for workflow by preparing and analyzing unit plans and reports

Provide leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, driving results

Support an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications

Identify, assess and review succession plans

Develop staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans

Create and maintain a work environment committed to excellent customer service

Manage direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals per Kohl's policies and practices

Work with other departments and divisions to resolve problems and ensure efficient service

Maintain safety, housekeeping and maintenance standards

Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

REQUIRED

Bachelor's or advanced degree

Multiple years of related experience, including direct supervision experience in distribution, production / operations management, warehouse management, or related field

Strong interpersonal skills

Working knowledge of automated distribution / warehouse management systems, Windows and Microsoft Office

Flexibility in hours to support multi-shift operation

Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and basic computer operation.

Ability to operate and communicate on multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance and meet scheduling requirements as set by the company.

Ability to learn and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.

Ability to give direction and to receive, understand and proactively respond to direction from leadership and other company personnel

Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively and appropriately with others.

Ability to maintain composure and work in a fast paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes

Ability to satisfactorily complete company training programs

Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating, preparing reports, etc.

Ability to plan, prioritize and monitor activities across business units.

Ability to complete or oversee the completion of assigned projects in a timely manner.

Perform work in accordance with the Physical Requirements section.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally over 50 lbs. with a two person lift.

Ability to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, reach, lift, grasp, push and pull on a frequent basis.

Ability to stand / walk for the duration of a scheduled shift (at least 9 hours).

Ability to visually verify information and locate and inspect merchandise.

Ability to comply with health and safety standards.

Working Conditions

Exposure to noise and moderate but varying temperatures

Kohl’s uses Biometric equipment for various business purposes, which may include timekeeping, access, secure entry / exit, temperature / wellness screenings, or other business operations
