A DAY IN THE LIFE

Our Project Manager Biologist (Environmental Planner) for Regulatory Permitting and CEQA P osition is located in Oakland OR Sacramento, CA.

Consultant responsibilities may include conducting environmental assessments and impact evaluations, writing technical reports, and developing permit applications and CEQA documents.

This position may involve periodic field work to evaluate site conditions. The ideal candidate will have project management and consulting experience in the regulatory permitting and CEQA process.

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

A strong educational background in relevant environmental science.

5 years of professional experience, where consulting experience or other experience in a relevant environmental position is preferred.

Familiarity and knowledge of California's natural resources, including aquatic resources, streams, wetlands, habitats, and sensitive / protected species.

Proven experience with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) process.

Proven experience developing, coordinating, and / or managing the regulatory permitting process, including experience working with the USACE, USFWS, NMFS, CDFW, and RWQCB to obtain regulatory permits.

Excellent organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working in collaborative team situations that require flexibility in assuming new roles and changing project directions.

Ability to operate independently, take initiative when necessary, and assume responsibility for work products and actions

Candidates will be evaluated for their qualifications in a comprehensive way, considering strengths in some areas in light of less experience in other topics.

Depending on the candidate’s experience, a written exercise may be required as part of the candidate evaluation process.
