We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team in the non-profit industry, located in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan.
This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, working directly with the homeless population of Grand Rapids to secure housing.
Responsibilities :
- Engage with the homeless community to assist in securing housing
- Utilize grants to secure funds for housing assistance
- Aid consumers with necessary documentation and eligibility checks for housing
- Calculate income and rent to ensure affordability and compliance
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and other technical skills for data entry and record keeping
- Ensure regulatory compliance in all operations
- Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure the success of the program
- Manage customer contracts and maintain department records
- Provide financial counseling and maintain a courteous and friendly demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative role within a non-profit setting
- Proficient in answering inbound calls in a courteous and friendly manner
- Experience with appropriate documentation and detailed documentation
- Must have basic office skills and be able to perform clerical duties effectively
- Proven track record in maintaining positive client relations
- Ability to complete paperwork and other compliance functions in a timely manner
- Proficiency in managing computer files and using a computer keyboard
- Experience in confirming appointments and maintaining department records
- Knowledge of database administration and management
- The ability to provide financial counseling when necessary
- An outgoing personality with exceptional organizational effectiveness
- Must be proficient in MS Excel and data entry, including numeric data entry
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and customer service
- Experience in maintaining records and performing office functions is essential.
