Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies-from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups-use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities.

Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

We're looking for a Product Marketer to help develop and manage the narrative, communication and enablement strategy to support Stripe in being an effective guardian of the financial ecosystem.

This means, helping our users seamlessly navigate the complex partner, legal, and regulatory requirements necessary to build and scale successful payments businesses, globally.

You'll work across our audience segments to prepare them accordingly, and partner with teams ranging from product, sales, customer success, engineering, data, legal, partnerships, and more to help create awareness of our new products and updates to market.

What you'll do

  • Translate requirements from cross-functional stakeholders across risk, policy, legal, product, and engineering to craft simple, elegant, and user-first narratives and messages
  • Partner with product and engineering to inform how fraud and compliance should be seamlessly and intuitively displayed across Stripe product surfaces
  • Shape Stripe's thought leadership, building our dialogue in close partnership with platforms on proactive risk management and how to be trusted actors within the space
  • Synthesize the top pain points of users on Risk to inform Stripe's product roadmap, internal and external communications, and operations.
  • Drafting user comms, and coordinating approvals and execution of any user comms
  • Consult and provide feedback on any user resources to ensure consistency in messaging across assets

Responsibilities

  • Understand our customers within our target segments and buyer personas, and serve as an advocate for their needs in order to shape go-to-market strategy and communications around risk and compliance obligations
  • Become an expert in Stripe's Risk and Connect products.
  • Write compelling copy and clear internal docs. This is a writing-intensive role, and the bar for your writing is high : you'll write crisp, vivid prose, with confident control over voice and tone
  • Create customer-facing assets that are polished, visually balanced, and consistent with Stripe's brand guidelines.
  • Support our go-to-market teams, including sales and customer success managers, to effectively prepare them for upcoming changes

Who you are

  • Empathetic. Brings the voice of the user + their needs to the forefront, and champions their needs to inform product decision making
  • A storyteller. You have deep empathy for users and are able to adapt how you communicate to best reach and engage your audience-from developers to technical and non-technical founders-and differentiate Stripe.

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and can distill complicated policies and requirements into concrete actions

  • Data-oriented. You like working with data and insights and pair that with your passion for users to generate balanced and thoughtful points of view for how to take our products to market
  • Organized. You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various work streams on track-and have a knack for developing and improving processes, and identifying opportunities to streamline areas of inefficiencies-where they exist.

You thrive in ambiguous environments, and drive towards clarity amidst ever-changing dynamics

  • Ambitious. You are eager to make an impact at Stripe. You thrive in a fast-moving environment and working with passionate sales teams, are able to operate fluidly between the 30,000-foot strategy level and the micro-detail to get things right
  • A team player. Product Marketers collaborate across the wider Marketing team, PR, product, sales, comms and basically with every team at Stripe.

You are able to work with a range of disciplines to execute on your work

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply.

The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of work experience that can span marketing, product marketing, product management, operational roles, or strategy consulting
  • At least 4 years specifically in go-to-market experience, product operations or product management
  • Experience working on marketing or growth throughout a product's lifecycle

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a high growth technology company
  • Experience in finance or strategy consulting
