Job Summary :
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals experiencing Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of addiction treatment, exhibit strong clinical skills, and have excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
This role is critical in supporting our mission to help patients recover and achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Care : Provide direct nursing care to patients with SUD, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assessing patient responses to treatment.
- Support Treatment Plans : Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring comprehensive care.
- Patient Education : Educate patients and their families about SUD, medication management, and healthy coping strategies to support recovery.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, care plans, medication administration, and progress notes.
- Crisis Intervention : Respond to medical emergencies and crises, applying appropriate interventions in a timely manner.
- Coordination of Care : Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and refer patients to additional services as needed.
- Compliance : Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
- Advocacy : Serve as an advocate for patients, promoting their rights and dignity throughout the treatment process.
Qualifications :
- Education : Completion of a Practical Nursing program from an accredited institution.
- Licensure : Current and valid LPN license in the state of Kansas.
- Experience : Previous experience in addiction treatment, mental health, or a related field preferred.
- Skills :
- Strong clinical assessment and nursing skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of SUD treatment modalities and compliance with relevant regulations.
Certifications : CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Additional certifications in substance use treatment (e.
g., MAT, ASAM) are a plus.
Work Environment :
The LPN will work in a clinical setting, interacting with patients, families, and a range of healthcare professionals. This position may require flexibility in hours to accommodate patient needs.
