Job Duties :
As a Crisis Intervention Nurse, you will be part of the Joint Command Center (JCC) for the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) .
The role involves engaging homeless individuals on the streets, subways, and parks to conduct mental health, medical, and safety assessments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with DHS Crisis Coordinators and outreach teams to engage with the homeless population and provide necessary services.
- Assess mental health conditions and determine the need for immediate care or hospitalization.
- Evaluate and manage individuals exhibiting violent or harmful behavior.
- Collaborate with law enforcement for transportation to psychiatric emergency programs (C.P.E.P.) when required.
- Maintain updated records and ensure accurate documentation of fieldwork.
Skills & Qualifications :
- License : New York State RN License, AHA BLS certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred experience in mental and behavioral health.
