Our Mechanical Manufacturing Division in Huntsville specializes in precision machining and assembly, supporting critical national security programs.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position will support multiple programs in the defense industry, focusing on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and efficiency.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including weld engineers, CNC programmers, and manufacturing personnel, to achieve project objectives.

Additionally, you will be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives and implementing lean manufacturing principles to drive enhancements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and methods.
• Design and optimize tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Apply GD&T principles to create and interpret technical drawings, ensuring precision in manufacturing processes.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizens, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Basic Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4 or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes and CNC programming.
• Proficiency in GD&T interpretation and application.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville or north Alabama area.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Solidworks.
• Experience with ERP and MES systems (e.g., Costpoint, Solumina).
• Experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing them in a manufacturing environment.

Pay Range : Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
