Job Description

Job Summary

This position will lead a group of finance professionals whose purpose is to ensure existing financial information and future projections are understood across a number of reporting bases.

Strong communication skills are required as the leader and the team are dependent upon other functional areas to produce data that then can be analyzed and presented to understand overall profitability in the current moment and across a long-term time frame.

This position will require close coordination across the organization with different stakeholders and will be very visible to the executive management team who will be making business decisions based on the financial information and scenario planning shared.

Strong analytical and communication skills are required to consume and challenge the financial information and to best represent a analytical review to the management team.

Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the financial development of the US L&H strategic and operating plan working closely with key business and legal entity partners
  • Lead the production of the quarterly landings for group IFRS 17 purposes
  • Provide and explain Key Performance Indicators to key stakeholders
  • Support the understanding and analysis of quarterly financial information relating to US L&H reinsurance business in accordance with Solvency II and IFRS17.
  • Support leadership in the analysis of underlying performance and identify emerging trends.
  • Provide and explain Key Performance Indicators to key stakeholders in the US and across SCOR Group.
  • Develop executive level presentations that can be shared with senior management team detailing full scope of situation and provide financial information that is actionable.
  • Develops, maintains and reviews analyses as needed of financial results, with a key focus to improve efficiency, business insights & auditability.
  • Explaining drivers of change in sensitivity analysis by having a solid understanding of business composition.
  • Partner closely within US Corporate Actuarial team, especially the financial development and valuation teams to explain reasonableness of results & suggest modeling enhancements from insights.
  • Complete special assignments and projects for the department, as necessary.
  • Utilize technology to perform job functions more efficiently and to further automate the production processes. Share technology solutions with other associates.

Qualifications

Required experience & competencies

  • 10+ years of financial analysis experience
  • Robust analytic and critical thinking skills with strong problem-solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written and relationship building.
  • Experience developing, implementing & controlling financial data and procedures
  • Managerial experience and excellent leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex models, processes, and data to deliver required results.

Preferred

  • Experience with data analytic and visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau, SQL)
  • Insurance and / or actuarial experience
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement departmental processes and controls and ensure appropriately documented.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science or relevant work experience
