Position Summary :

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate employee payments. This includes entering employee hours worked, production details, and commission based on client reports, as well as calculating wages and deductions to prepare paychecks.

Additional responsibilities include managing garnishments, assignments, tax levies, union dues, and ensuring compliance with payroll filing requirements.

Essential Duties and Job Requirements :

  • Respond to emails and phone calls promptly and professionally
  • Review and verify timesheets, works charts, wage computations, and other data to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Verify attendance, hours worked and pay adjustments, posting relevant information to designated records
  • Conduct payroll audits regularly to ensure accuracy, correcting any errors before finalizing
  • Process paperwork for new hires and update employee information in the payroll system
  • Calculate wages and deductions, entering data into the system accurately
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee exemptions, transfers, and resignations
  • Issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions
  • Track employee leave time (vacation, personal, sick leave)
  • Compile and review employee time, production, and payroll data from various sources
  • Prepare, balance, and reconcile payrolls to ensure timely and accurate payment
  • Attend all meeting and shifts on time and fulfill tasks assigned by management in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 5 years relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and taxes
