Shipping Coordinator

The Shipping Coordinator is an instrumental team member in fulfilling customer order shipments to a high standard. The basic function of the Shipping Coordinator is to provide administrative support to the shipping department and warehouse.

What You Will Do :

• Ensure that goods are shipped most efficiently following documented processes, while targeting cost reduction, freight savings, service and contractual agreements.
• Communicate with 3PL, warehouse staff, and manufacturing personnel to ensure customers’ expectations are met.
• Execute daily shipping schedule through the utilization of people, material, equipment and processes to meet customer requirements, meet compliance expectations and achieve cost objectives.
• Provide exceptional customer service through developing good working relationships with required functional groups.
• Complete daily invoicing and audits.
• Process shipping documentation
• Assist in resolving shipment issues, including : no show / late issues with carriers, freight not fitting on a trailer / overflow, missing freight, anticipate / proactively manage potential late shipments, swiftly resolve past due shipments.
• Manage the live load tracker.
• Set-up, trace, reroute shipments.
• High focus on load planning.
• International Shipments and preparing all documents for Customs.
• File, process, dispute all LTL damage - Freight Claims.
• Maintain and organize data.
• Request LTL rates and tender LTL shipments.
• Must follow established Standard of Work.
• Assist and support Shipping Operations Manager.
• Respond to internal and external customer emails.
• Greet and check in visitors.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need to Succeed :

• Maintain basic knowledge of logistics and warehousing processes and capabilities.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all office functions to serve as a backup when needed.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret standard work instructions or ISO procedures.
• Possess a strong customer service orientation and provide dedicated support of internal and external customer requirements.
• Able to effectively communicate with various audiences, both on the phone and in person.
• Ability to follow specific instructions.
• Ability to multitask
• Work cohesively with others while able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, well organized and self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision.
• High sense of urgency.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude
• Analytical thinking
• High school diploma or GED; minimum one year of logistics clerical experience or customer service.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge and experience with logistics processes.
• Experience in warehouse setting.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Persistence and initiative to overcome obstacles.

• Previous load planning or dispatching experience
