Day Kimball Healthcare is hiring for a Registered Nurse for the Part Time Day Shift Maternal Child Health job in Putnam, CT.

As the Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a vital member of a dynamic team responsible for diagnosing responses to actual or potential health problems and for providing basic supportive, and restorative care through use of the nursing process.

Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities : * Accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients in our Maternal Child Health Unit.

Assesses the health status of patients / families by means of comprehensive health history and physical examination* Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations, and laboratory examination, interprets findings, and alters plan of care according to collaborative practice agreement and protocols in designated area* Educates and counsels in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute / chronic illnesses* Documents findings and plan of care in the patient's medical record* Consults with physician per established Day Kimball Hospital policy* Intervenes to provide a safe environment and evaluates effectiveness of intervention for patients* Recognizes unsafe and life-threatening situations and how to intervene appropriately* Demonstrates skills in critical thinking, effective communication, organizational skills, problem solving, and ability to make appropriate independent decisions* Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice* Demonstrates compassionate customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues* Solid foundation in evaluating plans of care and reformulating as necessaryRegistered Nurse Education and Experience Requirements : * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required* Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Connecticut is required* Labor and Delivery experience preferred* American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent is required;
