Summary / Objective

The Parts Buyer / Inventory Coordinator position manages / buys inventory through database and maintain levels required on a daily basis to meet distribution demands.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (Coswin / SAP) and Parts Crib
  • Create Purchase Requisitions in both Coswin and SAP for needed parts.
  • Responsible for cataloging all parts within CMMS and maintaining associated physical critical spare part inventory in parts crib
  • Receive all maintenance goods, verify contents, match with purchase orders, physically place in inventory within parts crib, and / or distribute accordingly
  • Keep inventory and parts crib up to date by completing all transactions in the CMMS system and run daily replenishment report
  • Perform routine inventory cycle counts and update in CMMS
  • Drive Inventory Right Sizing (Proper min / max, reevaluating inventory needs – adding new parts or removing obsolete parts)
  • Expedite emergency parts procurement as required
  • Compile data for maintenance department month end reporting.
  • Coordinate with vendor managed inventory providers
  • Keep work area and parts crib clean and organized
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assists in the development of maintenance best

practices / procedures

for the department

  • Involved in the of cost saving initiatives
  • Coordinate planned work orders and direct contractors, when required
  • Maintains regular, predictable attendance

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office environment as well as on the production floor. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use fingers to type. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift or move items over 20 pounds.

    Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-based applications
  • Prior experience in Inventory Control
  • Education and Experience

  • Related
  • degree / training / certificate

  • 2-5 years' experience with CMMS systems, preventative maintenance system, and inventory control
  • Experience with COSWIN and SAP
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications
