Application Engineer

JobResponsibilities :

• Responsible for presales support technicalsupport related to precision automation solutions for electronicand semiconductor assemblyprocesses.
• Collaborating with crossfunctionalteams to deliver highprecision assemblysolutions.
• Provides product applicationengineering support to the Asian customer base sales and serviceorganizations and the assigned company productteams.
• Reviews customers circuit board designrelated manufacturing processes required production capacities andidentifies projected production savings based upon use of proposedequipment.
• Prepares and reviews sales andcustomer competitive analysis information and prepares productioncapability and financial ROI analysis to assist sales and customerwith capital equipment justification.
• Assistsin defining market needs for new products features andenhancements.
• Provides valuable input for thedevelopment of new equipment specifications and product performancerequirements.
• Evaluates prospective newapplications obtain all relevant information and specificationsfrom the potential customer identifies suggestions determinesestimate of work required to achieve results and determinesfeasibility of an application for companysequipment.
• Works directly with sales serviceand customers on specific presale and postsale products and processapplication issues.
• Develops and maintains athorough understanding of the technical specifications andcapabilities of company products.
• Research andanalyses data such as customer design proposals specifications andmanuals to determine feasibility and cost of design orapplication.
• Provides design improvementrecommendations for company assigned products based on customerfeedback and determines / coordinates action plan based on productteam priorities and resourceavailability.
• Analyzes product or applicationopportunities and performs design calculations based on engineeringprinciples.
• May participate in and evaluatefield installations and recommend design modifications to eliminatemachine or system malfunctions.
• May usecomputerassisted design / drafting equipment and software todevelop / design solutions to customerissues.
• Designs documents and procures / modifiesparts or assemblies for prototype testing.
• Develops and coordinates test plan.
• Compiles test data and documents formal reportfor distribution to respective personnel.

JobRequirements :

• Min 1015years of direct experience in electronics and / or semiconductorassembly equipment.
• Prior experience in customautomation design and / or application is desired but notmandatory.
• Direct customer interfacing skillsmandatory with excellent written and oralskill.
• Mandarin speaking mandatory regularcommunication with Delta Electronics industrial automation businessunit located across Taiwan and mainlandChina.
• Strong problemsolving and analyticalabilities.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering orrelated field.
• Candidate from globalsemiconductor and / or electronics assembly equipment withspecialization in SMT pick and place die placement dispensinginspection highly desired.
• Candidate fromlocal / international line builders custom automation systemintegrators within the electronics and semiconductor market segmentwill also be considered.
• Candidate must bewilling to travel within the region between 2550% on shortnotice.
• Fluent oral & writtenEnglish.
