Operations Manager

About the Position

The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the organization performs efficiently, profitably, and effectively.

This position requires specialized technical problem-solving skills and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technology.

The demonstration of the values of integrity, quality and teamwork are paramount. New ideas and concepts are also important but will be carefully analyzed and tested before implementation.

This position encompasses a defined span of management control and requires making decisions that support company guidelines authoritatively and quickly.

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy as it relates to practices, theories, and policies involved in operations and business.
• Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results.
• Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Managerial and diplomacy skills with the ability to exercise the necessary authority to assure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with a federal contract supporting a DoD client, especially in the handling of sensitive but unclassified client information required.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team consisting of contractor, civilian, and military personnel.
• Provide coordination support for Joint Venture efforts and Teaming Partners.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Directs, develops, implements, publicizes, and administers operations strategies and objectives as directed by the leadership team.

Assists in managing the operations function in conjunction with business growth, introduction of new operational systems, meeting organizational financial objectives, and meeting organizational goals in relation to safety, quality, and timely delivery of products or services.

• Assists with development of organization's policies, practices, and attainment of operating goals, while maintaining some management responsibility.
• Coordinates needed support to operations areas through intradepartmental interface for smooth workflow and cost-efficient product or service.
• Manages and assists in coordinating efforts between support departments within the organization.
• Contributes to the overall short- and long-range planning process.
• Participates in the investigation and implementation of new services, processes, or systems technologies to meet the organization's objectives.
• Establishes, implements, revises, and maintains policies and procedures related to operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

• Provides subordinates with opportunities to develop their expertise and skills.
• Delegates and shares responsibility for work output.
• Participates in the hiring and training of staff.
• Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of internal operations staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations consistent with company guidelines.

Education and Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in business management or related field required.
• Minimum of five years of related experience required in the government contracting industry.
• Previous experience in a professional service firm is a plus.
