About The Role
The Vice President of Marketing & Sales has responsibility for overall coordination, direction, execution, and evaluation of the sales and marketing departments, including initiatives to optimize attendance and revenue;
creating a marketing and sales budget with annual updates; developing a plan to maximize earned revenue; and directing all activities encompassing internal and external communications, the website and social media to propel the organization towards increased market share and greater brand recognition.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President will be a big picture, strategic thinker with a growth mindset and proven leadership experience who enjoys a healthy mix of strategy and tactics, and a blend of supervisory, mentorship, and individual contribution duties.
Accountable for delivering measurable results that achieve / exceed revenue and margin targets.
Primary ResponsibilitiesLeadership
Provide leadership, direction, and management to the sales and marketing teams to ensure exceptional service to all stakeholders;
coach, mentor and develop a strong team.
- Develop, direct, and implement an integrated sales and marketing strategy.
- Oversee the development and management of internal operating sales and marketing budgets.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of sales and marketing activity methods, costs, and results against goals. Utilize data analytics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures related to sales and marketing functions to enhance operations.
- Promote positive relations with team, guests, board, partners, vendors, and distributors.
- Represent the company at various community and / or business meetings to promote the mission.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of sales and marketing initiatives.
- Lead, inspire, and manage the sales and marketing teams to achieve collective and individual goals.
- Serve on the marketing committee.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.
Marketing
- Work closely with the CEO to align on vision, identify priorities, craft content, and core messaging; lead, manage, and guide Marketing & Communications (MarCom) partners on strategy, tactics, and voice;
- support key messaging campaigns across the organization; ensure excellent material standards to meet internal needs while managing expectations on deadlines and process;
conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities; leverage extensive knowledge, as well as market insights, to identify opportunities, and inform decision-making and guide market positioning.
Lead content development across our channels, including website, emails, video, social media etc. in collaboration with marketing committee and partners;
oversee the development and execution of both digital and traditional marketing campaigns; deliver our integrated message and align with department leads on priorities, audience, message, unique selling points and program outcomes to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
- Help tell the story to impact and comprehensive strategy through profile pieces that support and drive recruitment, fundraising, and partnerships;
- amplify the voices of our community stakeholders and share the impact and results from our community partners; craft messages and strategies that are aligned with our vision, mission, and value;
drive awareness and participation overall; and target messaging for underrepresented populations through partnerships as well as digital, social, event, and earned media strategies.
Sales
- Engage in a collaborative, consultative sales approach, identifying and understanding client and organizational needs and delivering creative solutions that drive revenue.
- Leverage venue assets to develop new relationships, lead delivery of presentations and negotiations, and close deals for corporate and community events.
- Contribute to a collaborative revenue-generating environment by working closely with the development department to ensure new opportunities are realized and new partnerships are aligned with strategic growth objectives.
- Assess market potential and identify new business opportunities and synergies to expand revenue-generating and fundraising activities that support existing programs and future growth opportunities.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and organizations.
- Develop systems for consistent, high-quality event and project management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or three or more years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other related software.
- Knowledge and practical experience with websites, SEO, digital marketing tools etc.
- Extensive experience and substantial portfolio strategizing, negotiating and closing sales deals.
- Ability to successfully complete a Pennsylvania State Police Clearance, a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and a Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Record Information obtained by submitting a full set of fingerprints to the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require travel as well as occasional evenings and / or weekends.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
