About the Position
The Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Program maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions.
In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure-track teaching positions on a part-time basis with occasional opportunities for temporary, full-time appointments.
Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.
Position Responsibilities : Instruction for : 1) Elementary or Secondary Science Teaching Methods or Elementary Science Teaching Practicum courses;
or 2) Content courses in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, or Geology for future elementary teachers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in science education or science discipline
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in K-12 schools, or three years of teaching experience in a high school, community college or university setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty and staff, including a commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in science education or science discipline
- Experience in teaching pre-service teachers

Salary
Salary is based on per credit rates and is variable depending on experience and education.
