Supply Chain Inventory Coordinator

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Inventory Coordinator supports operations by rounding in clinical supply areas, assessing Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) levels to ensure an adequate supply of inventory within each par location, and requests STAT orders to fill gaps in PAR inventories if identified during rounding. Serves as a liaison between Supply Chain and clinical areas to promote collaboration and communication. Communicates with Supply Chain Technicians to provide feedback around stock rotation and deficiencies. This position reports areas of concern to the Director, Supply Chain. Assists departments with changes in par levels by working directly with the warehouse staff and Supply Chain Analysts and modifying par levels in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system based on usage and demand. Scans all par areas for replenishment Monday – Friday. Reports to the Director, Supply Chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with clinical area leadership to identify gaps in supply inventory in PAR areas and requests increases to current par levels based on the needs of the unit.

Places STAT orders for inventory needed in PAR locations from the warehouse upon identifying product shortages during rounding and determines if par levels should be increased based on usage.

Modifies PAR levels in the ERP system based on assessment of demand and usage or requests from department leadership as long as requests align with historical usage and / or projected use of products

Performs physical scan of PAR areas on iPad for supply replenishment daily (Monday – Friday) to generate orders to the warehouse for PAR order picking.

Rounds on PAR units to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Evaluates trends and opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.

Compiles reports that provide data for making sound decisions around par level management within the clinical areas.

Operates pallet jacks and forklift as necessary.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND / OR CERTIFICATIONS

Required Licenses and / or Certifications

None required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required Education and Experience

Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials Management or related field from an accredited college or university required.

Must provide record of a completed degree or academic transcript from an accredited program, college, or university at time of hire.

3 years or more Supply Chain experience required.

6 months of which must include inventory management.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials Management or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.

Must provide record of a completed degree or academic transcript from an accredited program, college, or university at time of hire.

Medical supply experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in data entry, word processing and Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Outlook required.

Working experience with ERP required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to shift priorities in a fast paced, fluid environment.

Solid verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills as well as, the ability to interact with and build collegial relationships with diverse individuals.

Ability to travel locally to offsite locations.

At time of hire, proof of a valid driver’s license for the state of Virginia; as well as the ability to meet the insurance policy requirements of the hospital required.

Required to pass the CHKD driving test to drive a CHKD vehicle within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Premier ERP and Microsoft Office Excel experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Warehouse environment with exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions and hospital environment with potential exposure to blood borne pathogens.
