Responsibilities
- Reading stories to children and talking to the children about what happened
- Assisting children in activities designed by the reading specialists
- Providing individual help and attention where needed
- Interacting verbally with children on a one-to-one and small group basis
- Assisting the teacher in production of learning materials and in clerical duties
- Correcting pupil work and workbooks noting special areas of weakness to which teacher attention should be directed
- Assisting children in activities such as previously explained paperwork, listening post activities and microcomputer drill
- Providing individual instructional help for the disadvantaged child in the proper use of the library and supplemental reading books
- Providing aid to small groups of students in reinforcement activities
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or Teacher Certification
- Standard clearances and health forms will be required before hire
