Under specific direction, assists in the design, configuration, and operation of electronic Security Systems, building control systems including fire, security, and other low voltage control sub-systems (ie.
lighting, data networks, mass notification, etc.) to meet the intent of the project requirements and government scopes of work.
Assists in the development of design, drawing development, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations of the building control system.
Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, SGT field installation team and subcontractors
Responsibilities :
Assists in the design and configuration of Electronic Security Systems and building control systems as defined by the contract documents.
Creates flow diagrams, floor plan device placement, floor plans, conduit layout, trenching details, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
- Assists in the development and testing plans from vendor related manuals and installation instructions necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
- Assists in the coordination and creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
- Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
- Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
- May provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
- Keeps management and customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Assists in developing site-specific training documentation for owner / operator on specific installed systems.
- Participates in release meeting with project field team.
- Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
- Developing and assisting with producing, reviewing, and approving TDPI, TDPII, TDPIII, TDPIV, TDPV and TDPVI deliverables that include but not limited to the following :
o Site survey reports
o Technical Detail Matrixes
o Manufacturer Data Cut Sheets (MFD)
o Software Data
o System Description Analysis
o Contractors Field Test (CFT) Performance Verification Test (PVT) System Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures
o Training manuals & Student Handouts
o CFT / PVT / SAT Reports
o Operator and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals
o M&S Manuals
o Shop drawings and As-built drawings
Required Qualifications :
- Must reside in / near Huntsville, Alabama
- OSHA 30 Certification and First Aid CPR
- Must be willing to travel 35% of time on-projects
- Minimum five (5) years of technical experience in ESS systems.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working with federal customers.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working with USACE Huntsville ESS program
- Familiarity with the Army Corps of Engineers work process
- Familiarity with working in a secure environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and auto CADD or similar software
- Ability to learn SGT proprietary software tools.
- Must be accountable and adaptable, with the ability to handle a frequent changing environment and take responsibility for one’s work.
- Excellent decision making, delegation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to maintain and manage strong working relationship with current and prospective clients and within the Siemens organization.
- Ability to think and solve problems on the spot.
Preferred :
Experience and knowledge of VSS, ACS, IDS, mass notification, and building automation systems is highly desired
Security Clearance :
Must be U.S. citizen and have a DOD Secret Clerance.

The salary range for this position is $96,800.00 to $133,100.00. An annual incentive target also is part of the compensation package for this position.
The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
