AllWhole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive companyimage by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service tocustomers and other Team Members at all times.

All positions mustbe performed in accordance with team and store Standard OperatingProcedures. Team Members must be prepared and able to perform theduties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions.

Responsibilities

  • Abilityto work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, andholidays as needed.
  • Performs opening, mid, andclosing duties as assigned.
  • Follows departmentprocedures for preparing, storing, rotating, and stocking ofproduct.
  • Prepares, packages, weighs, and pricesproducts for sale.
  • Monitors product quality andfreshness and ensures proper productrotation.
  • Ensures cases and shelves are cleanand well-stocked.
  • Completes spoilage, sampling,temperature, and sweep logs asrequired.
  • Assists with periodic inventorychecks.
  • Arrives to workstation on time,appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works allscheduled shifts and attends required trainings andmeetings.
  • Provides excellent customer service,addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner andmodels suggestive selling techniques;

answers phones and pagespromptly and courteously.

  • Maximizes salespotential through effective and proper procedures for prepping,storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandisingproduct.
  • Follows and complies, or ensurescompliance, with established procedures, including Weights andMeasures, health and sanitation, and safe workpractices.
  • Maintains, or ensures maintenanceof, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment;maintains equipment in accordance with Whole Foods Marketcleanliness and safety standards.
  • Ensuresaccuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Immediatelyreports safety hazards and violations.
  • Performsother duties as assigned by store, regional, or nationalleadership.

  • Ability to learnbasic knowledge of all products carried indepartment.
  • Ability to visually examineproducts for quality and freshness.
  • Proactivelyreads labels and familiarizes oneself on variousproducts.
  • Strong to excellent communicationskills and willingness to work as part of ateam.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clearand respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, andvendors.
  • Ability to meet customer serviceexpectations and standards in all interactions with customers,vendors, and Team Members.
  • Ability to followdirections and procedures; effective time management andorganization skills.

  • Strongwork ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with asense of urgency.

PhysicalRequirements / WorkingConditions

  • Must be able tolift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour workday : standing / walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use : singlegrasping, fine manipulation, pushing andpulling.
  • Work requires the following motions : bending, twisting, squatting andreaching.
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaningchemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures : Less than32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit(refrigerators), >

90 degreesFahrenheit.

  • Ability to work in a wet and / orcold environments.
  • Ability to use tools andequipment, including box cutters, knives, electric pallet jacks,forklifts, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, balers, and other heavymachinery.

Newentry level Team Members who successfully complete their first90-days of employment and who remain actively employed in aneligible role, may be eligible for a base rate increase after their90-dayanniversary.
