Core Responsibilities :
- The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in the ambulatory setting.
- Ability to scrub required procedures.
- Care of the surgical patient in the Pre-op, Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery as well as the OR circulator.
- Provides Nursing care to a broad range of surgical patients in the Plastic Surgery environment.
- The RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care of all assigned patients
- The RN will coordinate care with members of the health care team including the Surgeon, Anesthesia team (Anesthesiologist, CRNA) , Surgical Technologist and Perioperative RN
- Pre-op assessment and admission
- Pre op phone calls involving instructions for patients.
- Provides ongoing assessment to determine optimal discharge criteria and timing
- Provides discharge instructions to patient, family members and / or caregiver.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility in start and end times.
Position Qualifications :
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Three years of Perioperative experience including OR Circulator experience.
- Current state licensure to practice within good standing
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Successful completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to Detail and following Policies set forth by the Department.
- Critical Thinking Skills along with good communication skills.

- Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and repetitive motions
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients and equipment
- Manual and finger dexterity
- Hand eye coordination
- Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Corrected vision and hearing to within normal range
- Working long hours
