Payroll Specialist
Job Description
This position can be remote. Eastern and Central time zones preferred.
The IFS payroll process is outsourced to a global company, CloudPay. As the Payroll Specialist in North America, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee wages and salaries while adhering to all relevant regulations and policies.
You will have a strong understanding of payroll procedures, impeccable organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
We are looking for someone who will thrive in a collaborative team environment, possess the capacity to handle multiple tasks, consistently meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong proficiency in utilizing Excel for various reporting and analysis tasks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Process payroll for employees on a bi-weekly / semi-monthly basis accurately and in a timely manner
- Calculate retroactive pay (when approved) for late merit increases, adjustments, or promotions
- Maintain accurate payroll records and files, including employee information, tax forms, and other documentation
- Review computed wages and correct errors to ensure accuracy of earnings
- Ensure all deductions are compliant with all federal & state wage laws
- Check non-exempt personnel timesheets for accuracy and approvals
- Using IFS system, import expense reimbursements
- Calculate and process wage garnishments, deductions, and withholdings
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data and resolve any payroll-related issues
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters promptly and professionally
- Assist with payroll-related projects and initiatives as needed
- Process quarterly and annual bonuses
- Prepare various payroll and management reports each payroll
- Conduct year-end preparations and auditing
- Handle Employment Verifications and E-Verify cases
Qualifications
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience with North American payrolls; CloudPay experience is a plus
- Strong technology aptitude with advanced abilities in Excel, including the creation and maintenance of reports, for comprehensive data analysis and reporting needs
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing regulations. Understanding of payroll principles, including payments, deductions, and employer costs.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines effectively
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
- Trustworthy with a strong commitment to confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Enjoyment of working in a fast-paced global environment
- Ability to adapt quickly and positively to change
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Payroll Professional Certified - CPP / APA or equivalent preferred
