Job Description

Location Profile : Located in North Hollywood, CA, Avibank Manufacturing, Inc., a PCC Company, a part of the Engineered Products Group, is among the world's leading manufacturers specializing in the design and production of sophisticated fasteners and multi-component fastening systems and devices, solving difficult engineering and critical performance problems.

Position Summary : Level one tooling machinists work under direct supervision to interpret basic work instructions and safely operate grinders, lathes, and mills to produce tooling components such as forming tools and dies.

Level one operators will also complete in process inspection duties using micrometers and calipers, etc. This role requires competencies in basic shop math, basic print reading and a basic mechanical aptitude.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
  • Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
  • Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable.
  • Smooths flat and contoured surfaces and power grinders and fits and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms.
  • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
  • Heat treats tools or parts.
  • Connects wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.
  • Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
  • Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product.
  • Works under direct supervision to ensure product is completed accurately.

Required Experience :

1 - 2 years direct experience in industry or related field.

Level of Education :

AA, Trade school degrees or equivalent certifications required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $23.25 to $30.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.

This role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter.

Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year and 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.

Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.

S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
