Position Overview :

As a Welder at our facility, you will play a crucial role in our dynamic production environment, focusing on the fabrication of stainless-steel car bodies for top-tier rail vehicles.

Your responsibilities will include meticulously welding stainless-steel assemblies, ensuring precision and adherence to detail drawings using jigs, fixtures, and advanced welding equipment.

Safety will be paramount as you contribute to maintaining a healthy work environment by strictly following safety protocols and utilizing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

This position offers a rewarding opportunity to apply your welding expertise and contribute directly to the creation of high-quality rail vehicles known for their reliability and performance.

What your day-to-day will look like :

• Weld assemblies according to specified welding standards.
• Ensure all dimensions comply with drawing specifications and tolerances.
• Repair fabrication errors according to defined repair procedures.
• Safely use hand, power, and welding tools.
• Complete work order documentation, and quality documents, and accurately clock labor hours.
• Meet company standards for quality and workmanship
• Meet production schedule, quality requirements, and budgeted labor hours with limited supervision.

To thrive in this role, you have :

• High school education or GED
• 2 years of MIG welding experience or completion of an accredited weld education program
• General mechanical background.
• Basic English skills - the ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.
• AWS certification for welding stainless steel using GMAW 3G vertical up and 4F overhead.
• Working knowledge of GTAW welding.

• Upon offer of employment, candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screen, as well as a Pulmonary Function Test and Respirator Fit Test.

• Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb, crawl in tight spaces or balance; talk and hear.
• Lift and move no more than 40 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

• Welders are required to wear a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), and other required protective equipment.
