About you :
You have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to) :
Venipuncture
- Placing IV Catheters
- Drug Calculations
- Administration of Medications (IV or other methods)
- Taking Vitals
- Observe, document and recognize changes in patient attitude, abnormal behavior, and changes in condition
- Providing high quality medical / nursing care
- You work well independently and as part of a team, practicing good judgment to ensure high-quality care for all patients
- You adapt to the individual needs of each patient, are not afraid to ask questions, are eager to enhance your skill set, and maintain a positive attitude
- EzyVet and SmartFlow experience is a plus.

Qualifications :
- The LVT position requires a current and active Veterinary Technician License in Virginia, or have an active license in another state that qualifies you to be eligible for licensing
- At least two years of Veterinary experience as an LVT, or one with two years as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Extensive experience with anesthesia, venipuncture and catheters
- Excellent communication, patient care and customer service skills
- Be flexible and adapt well to new situations
- Work well as part of a team
Additional Requirements :
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and have original, unexpired documents to verify eligibility.
- Must be able to pass a 7-year background check and drug test (complying with local, state and Federal guidelines).
- Have a valid high school diploma or GED

Bush Veterinary Neurology has four locations across 2 states! Our clinics are operated by board certified neurologists that provide same-day life-saving neurosurgery and long-term medical management.
Our hospitals house state of the art equipment to provide advanced diagnostic testing including cerebrospinal fluid collection / analysis, computed tomography, electroencephalography, MRI and more! Our neurologists perform both spinal and brain surgeries.
Some of these surgeries include intervertebral disc surgery, brain tumor removal, foramen magnum decompression, ventricular shunt replacement and more!! Veterinary technicians play an integral role in our hospital whether they are handling patient care, taking care of clients, running our diagnostic imaging equipment, or assisting doctors in surgery.
