Responsibilities :
- Visit customer locations to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls
- Identify opportunities for enhancing equipment performance and conduct preventative maintenance on customer machine tools
- Identify and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components
- Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues
- Effectively communicate machine issues, installation progress, or machine repair status to customers; complete and submit proper documentation to the office and customer
- Take ownership of customer-related problems and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction
- Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay updated on industry developments
- Maintain a comprehensive technical knowledge of the company's product lines
- Stay informed about vendor products and new technologies, and implement them when suitable
- Provide machine maintenance training as part of after-sales technical support
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements :
- An associate's degree in a relevant field is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required
- At least 5 years of experience as a CNC Field Service Technician or Engineer is highly desirable; equivalent experience may be considered
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with CNC controls; proficiency in Fanuc is extremely beneficial
- Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a technical aptitude
- Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs and other related business software
- Ability to work unscheduled overtime without advanced notice
- Valid driver's license and auto / vehicle insurance are required
- Ability to travel regionally up to 50% of the workweek, with some overnight travel necessary
- Must possess basic hand tools for electrical and mechanical repair
