We have 16 operating rooms and provide surgical care to patients with Anesthesiology, ENT, General, GYN, Neuro, Ortho, Urology, Cardiac, Radiology needs.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the operating room suites, contributing to the overall patient care and infection control efforts.

You will work closely with the operating room staff, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide a sterile environment conducive to optimal patient outcomes.

Shifts available : Possible Swing shifts available, M-F, 1 : 00pm to 9 : 30pm Day shifts, M-F, 9 : 00am to 5 : 30pm Some call time is necessary.

No weekend or holiday work is required. Operating Room Housekeeper Responsibilities : + Operating Room Sanitation : Perform thorough cleaning, disinfection, and sanitization of operating rooms, including scrub sinks, floors, walls, equipment, surgical lights, and other surfaces according to established protocols.

• Sterilization Support : Assist in the cleaning, and assembly of equipment and supplies required for procedures, ensuring compliance with sterilization procedures and standards.
• Waste Management : Properly dispose of regulated medical waste, sharps containers, and biohazardous materials in accordance with hospital policies and safety guidelines.
• Stock Management : Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, disinfectants, and other materials needed in the operating room, promptly reporting shortages to the supervisor.
• Infection Control : Adhere to infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and isolation precautions to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
• Equipment Maintenance : Report malfunctioning equipment and assist in coordinating repairs or replacement to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate effectively with operating room staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a smooth workflow and address any specific cleaning or sterilization requirements.
• Compliance : Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including those related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on industry best practices, attend training sessions, and actively seek opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to environmental services in the operating room.

Qualifications Operating Room Housekeeper Qualifications : + High school diploma or equivalent is required. + Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or a similar role is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices in a healthcare setting is an advantage. + Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment, and disinfection products used in operating rooms.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately. + Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with healthcare professionals and staff. + Physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment or supplies as needed.
• Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Working Conditions : This position primarily operates in a hospital setting, specifically within the operating room suites.

The role may require working in a sterile environment with exposure to chemicals, cleaning agents, and bloodborne pathogens.
