Job Description

Position Summary

We're looking for a System Administrator to join our Infrastructure Team. This role will be a hands-on technical expert driving the success of IT through administration, automation, and maintenance of the organization’s data center and cloud hosting technologies.

This person will succeed by optimizing systems and system uptime, maximizing the benefit of IT systems investments, and participating in a monthly on-call rotation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Hosting : Monitor and maintain the organization’s data center and cloud hosting platforms
• Windows Server : Troubleshoot, manage, and provision Servers (2016 / 2022) in physical and virtualized environments
• Active Directory Design and Implementation : Design, deploy, and maintain Active Directory structures that align with organizational requirements and best practices.
• User and Group Management : Create, modify, and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions to ensure secure and efficient access to network resources.
• Group Policy Management : Develop and enforce Group Policies to standardize and secure desktop configurations, application settings, and security settings across the network.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution : Investigate and resolve issues related to Active Directory, authentication, and access control in a timely and efficient manner.
• Security and Compliance : Implement security measures to protect against unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
• Backup and Recovery : Establish and maintain reliable backup and recovery processes for Active Directory, ensuring minimal downtime in the event of data loss or system failure.
• Collaboration with IT Teams : Work closely with other IT teams to integrate Active Directory services with other systems, applications, and infrastructure components.
• Issue Response & Resolution : Troubleshoot system failures quickly to minimize outages or interruptions;provide root cause analysis on any outages
• Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Active Directory configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Upgrades and Patch Management : Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and updates to ensure the security and performance of the Active Directory environment.
• Monitoring and Reporting : Take a proactive approach to monitoring via tooling and daily checklists to ensure critical infrastructure is meeting the demands of the business
• On-Call : Participant in an on-call rotation (1-week per month)
• Other responsibilities as required

Skills & Qualifications :

Three or more years of experience with the following :

• Supporting Microsoft-based infrastructure : Servers, AD, SQL, IIS, File Services, etc
• Supporting virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere and Nutanix AHV
• Implementing and managing security (users, roles, security groups)
• Managing end-user remote access solutions : VPN, SSL VPN, Citrix
• Network administration of Cisco and networking hardware (switches, firewalls, routers, etc).
• Administration and monitoring of network and system logs using Splunk or other SIEM platform

Nice to haves :

• Experience working in a highly controlled environment : health, finance, insurance, etc
• Exposure to cloud hosting platforms, including Azure and AWS
• Exposure to cloud VoIP solutions
• Exposure to NIST 800-53, ISO27001, HITRUST, MARS-E, SSAE16 / 18
• Exposure to Kanban / agile project management methodology
