- OCI Data Services has a strong portfolio of OLTP Services, such as PostgreSQL, Redis, Aries Storage Platform for ADB-S. The key priorities include driving large customer adoption;
- critical features like Cross-Region Replication, Extensibility of PSQL (Vector, Timescale, GIS etc.); New PSQL versions;
Rapid build out of data services in new regions; Strategic initiatives like multi-cloud support and Operational Excellence to handle disruptive events.
We have an urgent and strong need for Principal / Senior Principal engineers in the team. These OCI services will provide compelling value to Oracle / OCI customers while continuing revenue acceleration and adoption at OCI.
These offerings will compete with Microsoft Azure Data and AWS Data Services. All these key investments necessitate a business need for experienced engineers from the perspective of strengthening execution and driving thought leadership.
Candidate Profile :
- 10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems / managed services.
- Strong knowledge of Java / golang / C++
- Proficient with data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP / IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
- Deep understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
- Strong understanding of Linux
- Strong problem determination, problem resolution and performance tuning skills.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure and / or working on open source software / contributions to open source Redis / memcached / Cassandra / PSQL a strong plus.

Range and benefit information : US : Hiring Range : from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

As a Member Of The Software Engineering Division, You Will Apply Intermediate To Advanced Knowledge Of Software Architecture To Perform Software Development Tasks Associated With Developing, Debugging Or Designing Software Applications Or Operating Systems According To Provided Design Specifications. You Will :
- Work with Architects, business stakeholders and deliver new features / services and improvements
- Debug operational issues and suggest fixes, raise the operational bar and scalability of service(s)
- Assist customers onboarding to the service as needed
- Perform on-call operations duties on a rotating basis
