Overview
The Field Engineer will be working on Gas Utility projects ensuring logs are maintained, materilas are delivered and tracked, as well as inspections reports maintained for accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Assist in assuring that all necessary documents are available on the job site and that all the proper parties are notified of changes made to those documents
- Assist in initiating all requests for information and ensuring that changes resulting from those requests are adhered to during construction.
- Assist the Company to assure compliance with all specifications, standards, codes and drawings, and provides technical guidance during the construction phase.
- Serve as the communication liaison between various Company departments and shall provide Company with all infonnation related to the project.
- After construction is complete, the Field Engineer shall assist Company with the closing out of the project as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technology and one-year experience in natural gas / petroleum pipeline construction
or a high school diploma or equivalent plus min 3 years of field engineering experience (or equivalent), and experience preferred in natural gas / petroleum construction.
- Fundamental understanding of quality management principles as well as project management principles.
- Knowledge of DOT related document control systems, quality control processes and record retention policies.

Wage Data Per State Requirements
Pay Rate for this position is $59 / hr - $61 / hr. The starting pay rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- The successful candidate should have the ability to lift 50 pounds, have the ability to work in confined spaces and from elevated platforms, scaffolding and ladders.
- Dependent on project, typically requires work indoors but can require outdoor work as project needs dictate.
- Routine exposure to support service areas including boiler plants, mechanical spaces and areas where building infrastructure and operating systems as contained both inside and outdoors.
- At times, the examination of these spaces requires bending, stooping, and climbing around moderate system components, use of ladders and devices to access systems.
