Our Position :
This position performs and / or coordinates the accounting and reporting functions for the Conference and its affiliated organizations.
This position oversees the day-to-day accounting functions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and the organization’s policies and procedures.
Requirements :
Financial Management :
Performs / oversees the monthly financial closing of all organizations, including a proper cut-off of all revenue and expenses, account analysis, reconciliations, depreciation, consolidation, etc.
and producing accurate and timely financial statements.
- Designs and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for the Controller's review (including analyzing monthly operating results against budget and prior year, explaining variance analysis, and preparing cash flow analysis).
- Works closely with Project Managers to review departmental budgets and programmatic activities on a monthly basis.
- Compiles all necessary financial information for combined financial statement reporting purposes (quarterly) for the three divisions of an affiliated organization.
- Assists Controller, as needed, in the preparation of budget and forecast.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Performs and maintains accounting system implementations or upgrades.
- Manages Fiscal Sponsorship relationships and reporting.
- Compiles information necessary for the completion of the annual audit, working closely with external auditors; solicits accounting guidelines as necessary.
Assists in the preparation of required footnote disclosures, combined statements, schedules, and reports as requested.
- Prepare all Form 990s and BCO-10s, working closely with an external tax preparer during the review process. This includes inputting all 990 and BCO-10 information into the software provided by the external tax preparer.
- Tracks all restricted funds from foundation grants and / or government funding; assists investor relations department in the grant close-out and annual request for funds;
establishes proper relationships between supporting organizations and / or affiliated entities.
Manage multi-year pledges and sponsorships in CRM.

- Contributes to the organization's efficiency by performing other duties and participating in special projects assigned by the Controller and / or Chief Financial Officer.
Skills & Experience :
Education :
Undergraduate Degree in Accounting; CPA is preferred but not required.
Knowledge :
Ability to manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department (review of general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll).
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Experience with coordination and execution of external audits.
Financial statements analysis & closing experience are a must. Experience with non-profit organizations, Form 990 preparation, foundations, and grant reporting is beneficial.
Experience :
Minimum 4+ experience in public accounting or 5-10 years overall financial experience. Familiarity with non-profit accounting is preferred;
supervisory experience is a must.
Skills :
Attention to detail is essential
Proficient in MS Office suite; must have advanced knowledge of Excel
Experience with a Salesforce (CRM) and MIP (accounting software) preferred
Demonstrates sound analytical and organizational skills
Demonstrates ability to drive continuous improvements

Ability to translate financial concepts to collaborate with other departments effectively.
