SewingMachinesPlus.com, Inc is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Escondido, CA.

Who we are :

We are a family owned company and have been involved in the sewing and vacuum business for over 40 years. We run a successful sewing machine and vacuum sales and service business with two locations in California.

Our original store is located in San Marcos, and we have added a second location in San Diego, on Mission Bay Dr. Thanks to our wonderful customers, we expanded our original sales floor to over 10,000 square feet, built bigger classrooms, added new convenient location in the heart of San Diego and work daily on updating our online shopping site.

About the role :

The Staff Accountant will perform a range of accounting and financial duties to support the financial functions of the company.

the candidate will work in a fast paced environment.

What you'll do :

eCommerce.

Merchant reconciliations, ensure all outstanding items arising out of the reconciliation are rectified as per the established procedures and within the agreed service standards.

Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.

Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.

Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.

Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.

Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

Secures financial information by completing data base backups.

Maintains financial security by following internal controls.

Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.

Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;

establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Accomplishes the result by performing the duty.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Our ideal candidate :

Education and experience

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
Must have intermediate excel skills and QuickBooks
Data entry management experience
Reporting Research results
Corporate finance experience
