A Senior Structural Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, analysis, and management of structural projects and personnel.
Here are some key responsibilities for this position :
Structural Investigation and Renovation :
- Focus on investigating and renovating various types of buildings and special-purpose structures.
- Implement design or analysis tasks in accordance with building code requirements.
Project Management :
- Conduct structural design, investigation, and repair / rehabilitation projects.
- Review analysis and design calculations.
- Manage the preparation of drawings and specifications.
- Mentor junior staff.
Technical Expertise :
- Proficiency in materials behavior, especially concrete.
- Utilize computer analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE, etc.).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (experience with Revit and / or Sketchup is a plus).
Qualifications :
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Professional Engineering License in NJ / PA / NY
