What you will be doing

Location : Remote, Iowa

Preferred Location- commutable to Independence, IA.

Shift : Part-time Flexible schedule, work from home!

Under 10 hours per week, after normal operating hours for remote verification purposes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Responsible for remotely verifying medication orders entered after normal pharmacy hours; verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements.

2. Some onsite expectations required in Independence, IA for training and support as needed.

3. Reviews patient's medication profile for allergies, possible interactions, and appropriateness of the medication order.

4. Clarifies medication orders by contacting the nursing staff or the on-duty provider.

5. Communicates with on-site pharmacy staff regarding non-urgent follow-up for orders.

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

Requires a minimum of eight (8) years directly related and progressively responsible experience; a Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

An unrestricted, current state license as a Registered Pharmacist in resident state is required.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS :

1. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

2. Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints

3. Strong leadership skills

4. Strong interpersonal skills

5. Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction

6. Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services and drug interactions

7. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

8. Good analytical skills

9. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
