About the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology

The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of today's technological world.

Job Summary

The Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering (www.me.gatech.edu) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position within the Nuclear and Radiological and Medical Physics program.

Applicants will be considered at all ranks. Applications will be entertained in any of the School's research areas with an emphasis on interdisciplinary activities in fusion engineering and technologies : (1) Advancing fusion reactor design, and (2) research and technology in fusion nonproliferation, including tritium accountancy.

A strong emphasis on multi-university and national laboratory ventures is desired. Those applying for Associate and Full Professor positions should have established records in research that demonstrate nationally and internationally recognized expertise.

Industrial experience is desirable, but not required. Candidates are expected to teach and mentor a distinct student body.

Along with undergraduate and graduate teaching, each position requires a balance of research and service responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

Doctorate in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or related field required by the start of appointment.
