Travel RN - Endoscopy
Location : Herrin, IL
Shift : Day shift (7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM), Monday-Friday
Call Requirements :
- 2 weeknights per week
- 2 weekend days per month
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner hospital's Endoscopy unit in Herrin, IL, as a travel nurse.
This role offers the opportunity to utilize your specialized skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal conditions.
Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, including pre-procedure assessment, preparation, and post-procedure monitoring and recovery.
- Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper patient positioning, equipment setup, and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, managing any potential complications or adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families on endoscopic procedures, pre-and post-procedure care, and potential risks and complications.
- Collaborate effectively with the endoscopy team, including physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals, to provide seamless and efficient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and procedures.
Qualifications :
- Active RN license in the state of Illinois or a compact state license.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Endoscopy experience required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work day shifts and fulfill on-call requirements.
