The work will be challenging, but always rewarding. It’s Work That Matters. Overview Purpose Statement / Position Summary : The Psychotherapist II provides psychotherapeutic services for a caseload of patients with acutely complex needs.

Increasing initial assessments to meet State and County requirements for access to mental health services within 10 business days of request for service.

Responsible for assessment, treatment planning and provision of psychotherapeutic services to a defined caseload of patients and may also support the facilitation of groups.

Employs evidence-based psychological treatment interventions and provides case management services as needed. Services are primarily clinic-based, but some field work is expected, depending on the needs of the program or individual clients.

This position works with other team members to support access to overall services. This position is also responsible for supporting partnerships designed to enhance the availability of services care at CHLA and at external partners.

Knowledge of typical and atypical development. Ability to conceptualize needs of case based on diagnosis and usual mental health care.

Proactive ability to complete required outcome measures on time and to follow documentation requirements for these measures.

Timely documentation of progress notes. Ideal candidates will be self-starting with experience meeting defined clinical expectations, flexibility in changing clinical environment, ability to collaborate with different disciplines in providing care, ability to work in a team environment.

Experience working with children who have developmental disabilities, and their families is desirable. Bilingual / Bicultural applicants are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience : Minimum 2+ years clinical experience with children, adolescents, young adults, and / or their families / caregivers.

Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance required for positions requiring field-based services. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Experience working in health care settings and with children, adolescents, and families preferred. Training in evidence-based psychological treatments and experience working with children with developmental disabilities highly preferred.

Education / Licensure / Certification : Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology with previous experience in a child, adolescent, or family mental health setting.

BLS from the American Heart Association certification required. Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.

Bilingual highly desirable (Russian, Armenian or Farsi) Pay Scale Information $80,288.00-$144,518.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization.

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
