About The Position

Weekly Pay Range - $642 To $713 Job Title : Health Information Technician Job Specialty : Staff Augmentation Job Duration : 51 weeks Shift : Day, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM, Monday to Friday (No weekends or holidays) Guaranteed Hours : Experience : Minimum 9 months of experience in records management;

3 months of experience in medical terminology; 3 months of experience in typing. License : Certifications : Must-Have : Computer literacy Job Description : Compile and manage health information by reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness.

• Organize medical reports for accurate placement in files and review charts to ensure all reports and signatures are present.
• Type health information forms, including preparing charts for new admissions, filling out forms, and preparing requests for specific reports or certificates.
• Compile and type statistical reports such as daily and monthly census, Medicaid days, admissions, discharges, and length of stay.
• File reports into health information records, record information in logs, and manage the filing and retrieval system.- Provide information from health records after determining the appropriateness of requests.
• Coordinate with other departments concerning health information records procedures. Major Worker Characteristics : Knowledge of health information technology, regulations governing medical record keeping, patient confidentiality requirements, and medical terminology.
• Skill in using typewriters, word processors, and calculators.- Ability to solve problems involving few variables, write routine business communications, proofread medical reports, recognize errors, and recognize missing information in medical records.
• Ability to gather, collate, and classify information about data, people, or things. Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment : Equivalent experience or education in records management, medical terminology, and typing as noted above.
