Key Responsibilities :

• Wastewater Treatment Design & Engineering : Lead the design of wastewater treatment plants, sanitary sewer systems, and pump stations, ensuring compliance with EPA standards and local regulations.
• Example : Spearhead the design of a wastewater treatment facility optimizing processes for compliance, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Hydraulic Modeling & Analysis : Develop and calibrate hydraulic models for wastewater systems using tools like EPANET, WaterCAD, and GIS.
• Example : Manage hydraulic modeling for a sanitary sewer system to ensure optimal wastewater flow and stormwater management.
• Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams : Work with project managers, environmental engineers, and construction teams to deliver innovative water infrastructure solutions.
• Example : Coordinate with environmental engineers to integrate sustainable practices into stormwater management projects.
• Field Support & Site Visits : Perform site visits to monitor project installations and resolve engineering issues, ensuring design fidelity and regulatory compliance.
• Example : Conduct on-site inspections during the installation of a pump station to ensure proper execution and compliance.

Requirements

What You’ll Need to Succeed :

• Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience : 8+ years of experience in wastewater treatment design, sewer transport systems, hydraulic modeling, and pump station design.
• Licensure : Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland required, or ability to obtain licensure within the first year.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPANET, WaterCAD, GIS, and other hydraulic modeling software.
• Leadership & Collaboration : Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with LEED-certified projects or other environmental certifications.
• Expertise in sanitary sewer overflow control, stormwater management, and hydraulic modeling for complex water infrastructure projects.
