Job Summary :
The Enterprise Systems Administrator position has responsibility for server administration, application administration and data storage administration in the OSU Information Technology Server Administration Department.
This position provides a variety of lead administrative / analyst tasks related to the administration and management of services such as, Windows Server, Red Hat Linux 7 and 8, CentOS, Red Hat Satellite, Vmware vcenter an Horizon, Zoom administration, SAS Viya, Google Tensorflow, LMTools Software Licensing, Commvault, Powerstore, Data Domain, Isilon, Brocade Fiber Switches, Cybersense, Dell Open Manage Enterprise, Nvidia GPU licensing, Pharos Print Metering, Canvas LMS administration, AWS Cloud, Apache and IIS website administration, SFTP and FTP technologies.
This position will consult with end users, managers, vendors, and other individuals from Information Technology Services (IT) as well as the University.
The individual will participate in incident management, change management, security management and IT Service management processes and procedures.
The Server Administration area has responsibilities for technical infrastructure supporting the Oklahoma State University System as well as the A&M institutions under the Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents.
The position is expected to work with moderate supervision and have no direct reports. This position will manage more than 1 service independently within the environment.
These services are available at the OSU Stillwater campus, the other 4 branch campuses and possibly the A&M institutions.
The administrator has the responsibility to maintain sufficient knowledge and skills to improve the services being provided as well as keep up with the day-to-day operations of the services.
The Enterprise Systems Administrator follows the lead of senior systems administrators.
Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device.
The incumbent's salary includes additional compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English. Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, using tact, discretion, and independent judgement.
Rotated 24x7 on-call status for system emergencies; possibly on call one to two weeks per month. Rotated on-call availability for scheduled downtime during non-business hours including weekends and holidays.
Some travel as required to work with other university campuses.
Working with electronic devices presents the potential of electrical shock.
May require lifting up to 50 lbs when moving equipment.

Minimum Qualifications :
High School / GED
Five years of system administration experience. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English. Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, using tact, discretion, and independent judgement.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Management Science & Information Systems (MSIS), Computer Science or a related field.
More than five years of system administration experience.
Provide technical support by problem solving and troubleshooting managed systems. Perform diagnosis of system failures and performance degradation and provide resolution and solution of program products, including user and supervisor support.
Perform server system administration by installing, maintaining and upgrading application packages, client software, and integrate solutions into OSU computing environment.
Apply software patches, optimize server operation parameters and plan backup, restore and archive procedures. Perform user ID management.
Provide support to system users and staff as required, for problem investigation and resolution, requirement definition, implementation, training documentation, system evolution, system improvement and conversion.
