SUMMARY : The primary purpose of this position is to develop, coordinate, direct and administer our facility’s marketing and public relations programs and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of our facility’s admissions requirements, services and requirements.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement evaluate, and direct the facility’s marketing programs to maintain and increase our census and to provide the community with information relative to our facility, its programs, services, and practices.
  • Assist department directors in the development and use of marketing policies and procedures, and establish a rapport in and between departments so that each staff member can realize the importance of his / her role in our marketing and public relations program.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and tracking of customer service satisfaction surveys.
  • Interpret the facility’s policies and procedures governing the release of information to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary.
  • Ensure that public information describing the services provided in the facility is accurate and fully descriptive.
  • In conjunction / coordination with the Administrator, develop and implement long range plans for the facility in the effort to establish and maintain our marketing and public relations program.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Administrator, medical staff, and other professional and supervisory staff
  • Maintain schedules for all marketing and public relations programs
  • Develop, schedule and guide tours / personnel through the facility
  • Maintain an adequate liaison with families, residents and community and civic leaders
  • Participate in community service projects and develop appropriate problem-solving actions
  • Schedule and participate in departmental meetings concerning our marketing and public relations programs and activities.
  • Interpret resident rights to the resident, family, staff personnel as necessary or appropriate.
  • Assure that adequate financial records and expense reports are submitted to the Administrator as required.
  • Assure that the residents rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Coordinate special functions with all departments.
  • Assist with promotions, publications, newsletters etc, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare setting required.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Must be able to push, pull move and / or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and / or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
