Act as Process Facility Engineer to debottleneck facility operations, improve facility runtime and optimize production. Responsible to manage all project phases including : plan, design, cost estimates, manage implementation and construction, facility drawings, etc.

Additionally, they will engage and manage outside facility engineering support on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities :

  • Self-perform full cycle scoping, preliminary design, cost estimating, detailed design, economic analysis, and evaluation of production facilities and other systems that impact production facilities.
  • Obtains bids and coordinates equipment and personnel for the field operations.
  • Demonstrate effective people skills to interact with partners, service providers, peers, support staff, and field and facility personnel.
  • Effectively solicit ideas from all people involved in the project to maintain a high degree of efficiency and "ownership" to meet the goals of the projects and the company.
  • Supervise and approve facility modifications, installation, decommissioning, and other related work as well as monitoring costs.
  • Engage and manage outside engineering support (consultants and / or engineering firms) on an as-needed basis, as agreed with the Asset Team Manager.
  • Ensure alignment with Hilcorp policies and practices and applicable codes, recommended practices, and all government regulations.
  • Support operations staff in evaluation and optimization of existing equipment.
  • Willing and available to travel to field locations on a regular basis, or as needed.
  • Willing to travel overnight and by large and small commercial aircraft, helicopter, boat, and vehicles as required.

Qualifications :

Two (2) years minimum oil and gas experience in process engineering including front-end engineering, design, and estimating.

Upstream oil and gas and field project execution experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in an integrated team of reservoir engineers, geoscientists, operations engineers, and business analysts.
  • Experience in the areas of cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, planning, and contracting.
  • Experience with low / high pressure gas, oil, CO2, H2S, water, and sand production.
  • Experience in creating process engineering deliverables such as design basis, heat and material balance, PFDs, P&IDs. Familiar with sizing process equipment (separators, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors) and developing data sheets and specifications.
  • Experience with pipelines, flowlines, separation, compression, sweetening, water handling, SCADA, electric power, chemical injection, metering, and instrumentation.
  • Experience in process modeling software, such as HYSYS or Flarenet.
  • Experience in process safety management and hazard analysis is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of equipment design, fabrication, and installation practices.
  • Ability to develop self-directed teams to meet performance goals.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong, dynamic team leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and industry regulations for oil and gas facilities.
  • Ability to solve problems accurately and exceptional proficiency in interpreting process facility related data. Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Self-starter with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing workforce.
  • Basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to learn company specific applications.
  • Outstanding management, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record free of violations in order for the company to secure automobile insurance for the employees.

Education Requirements :

Required : Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations :

Valid State Driver's License.
