- opportunities and support for continued education including tuition reimbursement The Endoscopy Assessment RN is responsible for performing pre-procedure nursing assessment of patients undergoing elective endoscopic procedures.
The Endoscopy Assessment RN coordinates the pre-procedure process (i.e. sending information packets and prep instructions), completes the patient assessment, and identifies and documents findings.
The Endoscopy Assessment RN communicates the appropriate information to the physician, nursing personnel, social services, etc.
and screens all referrals for appropriateness of patients being booked for procedures. This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
This position reports to the Manager, Endoscopy and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing required; BSN preferred - Strong assessment skills evidenced by experience or evaluation required - Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice nursing as a registered nurse required - Current American Heart Association BLS certification required - Advanced assessment / interview course required - Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with the peri-operative / endoscopy nursing process required - Demonstrated ability to resolve inter-disciplinary and interdepartmental problems in an effective manner required - Demonstrated effective use of change process required
