The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD has an opening for the 2024 / 2025 school year for a Full-Time, 10-month, Occupational Therapist.
The Katherine Thomas School is a private special education school that services students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities, and autism that serves students in grades K - 12. EOE
Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist :
- Evaluate and provide individual and group therapy as well as classroom integrative services
- Work closely with the educational team to provide comprehensive services to students on their caseload
- Prepare accurate and timely documentation and report progress of students
- Participate in school and departmental staff meetings
- Use a variety of virtual programs and platforms to support students' learning during virtual learning
Requirements for the Occupational Therapist :
- Masters from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Eligibility for Maryland licensure must be established prior to employment
- Two to three years of pediatric and school experience is preferred
- Assistive technology experience a plus
- Ability to determine the need for an occupational therapy evaluation
- Ability to develop occupationally based intervention plans
