Job Story

A peer financial coach is a student who provides financial literacy guidance to fellow students and educates the WSU community on financial wellness topics. All peer financial coaches are trained in financial literacy, financial aid, and coaching skills. Peer financial coaches are community ambassadors for financial literacy while they support students who are starting or continuing their journey to financial wellness. In this position, individuals will have the opportunity to grow a wide variety of valuable skills currently used in the workforce.

Job Summary

A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties

Student may work up to 20 hours per week, based on office needs and availability

Must be available during workshops, Wednesdays from 11 : 30 - 1 : 30 pm

Professional / committed to creating a culture of financial wellness on WSU Campus

Required Education

High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Required Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • comfortable with presenting to small to large groups
  • Microsoft products
  • Social Media experience
  • Basic Financial Literacy Knowledge

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
